Anticlimatic

This is how my three kids are wasting their day.

Christian
Micah & Hannah

They're watching Jimmy Neutron, Kim Possible, and My dad the Rockstar

If that doesn't fry their impressionable minds enough I'm sure there's enough other junk that they can watch on their "we're out of school for the hurricane" day.

We ended up getting lots of wind with no damage, only lost power and internet. Thank you for all your prayers. We really missed a huge tragedy and we are grateful!

Waiting for Rita & Redecorating

Here are pictures of my latest remodeling.
What do you think?

This is my 10 year old son's touch

So while we wait and fill every imaginable container we can with water, the kids played outside. Since we boarded up our house is crazy dark! I told the kids they had to go outside and play until dark or it storms, whichever comes first. My brother, Dave, his wife, Jenn, and their son, Clay, arrived yesterday after 8 hours on the road. We only live 45 mins. from them. We are glad they are here. They live in an apartment on the Southeast side of Houston and we live on the Northwest side. Needless to say they were happy to be off the road!

Most every road in town is empty now- the calm before the storm! I know a bad joke!

This is news station we watch for the most realistic news. My husband really likes Dr. Neil Frank's approach to reporting the weather.

Well, I'm going to go clean the kitchen and then go outside myself. We are doing well, but I am too distracted to write well now.

God Bless!

Hurricane Rita

Dear Friends-
We are hunkering down, boarding up and staying put. We were going to leave but the roads and gas are so bad that we are staying. What can you do? PRAY!
Pray for:
· The kids-that we will have words of comfort, that they won’t freak out, that they will know that we have no plans to put them in danger
· Me- my anxiety issues tend to rear their ugly head in this kind of unknown situation
· Danny- as the head of the house I know he bears all the burdens for our safety and well- being.
· For those on the road- that they not be stuck there when the storm comes in.

Mom & Dad were going to leave but now they are going to hole up at his church. My brother’s family, Dave, Jenn, & Clay(15 mos.) left this morning for New Braunfels to stay with her grandparents -pray that they arrive safely.

As long as we have email we will check it. We’ll let you know how things go!

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you!!! Holding fast to the promise!
